Under the leadership of the Dean, Associate Deans, and
Assistant Dean, CHASS maximizes its information technology
capability in achieving the goals of supporting teaching,
research and administrative excellence through implementing
instructional, research and administrative technology.
Marked by highly technical services and a development-oriented
team for academic computing and Information Technology,
CHASS College Computing provides technology support services
to the College and serves as the College’s resource
center for instructional, research, and administrative
technology.
Since 2002, a number of new projects, systems, and facilities
in instructional, research and administrative technology
in the College and on campus have been developed. Their
short summaries are availabe via the links below. Some
have links to further information that you might want
to pursue. CHASS College Computing would be more than
happy to answer questions, provide information, or assist
faculty and staff in applying information technology to
your teaching, research, and administration.
In 2003, the College's technology development effort was
recognized by the UC President Office and UCR former Chancellor
Córdova, and was awarded with Larry
Sautter Award for Achievement
in University Computing.
In 2007, CHASS received Finalist Award of Best Practices in Business Intelligence from Computerworld for the revolutionary Student Advising and Appointment System (SAAS). Awards were presented in Las Vegas at the Green Valley Ranch Resort on September 26th.
