a statewide inaugural tour of all ten University of
California campuses and facilities starting with UC
Riverside in November, 2003.
President Dynes’ first night in Riverside commenced
with an evening reception in the University Theatre.

took the opportunity to welcome the President. Following
the welcoming proceedings, the President had a chance
to meet and speak with many members of the UC Riverside
campus community including faculty, staff, alumni, students,
parents, Riverside community leaders, and senior UCR
administrators.
On the second day of his two-day visit, President Dynes
led many campus and community members for an early jog
around the campus. The runners refreshed themselves
at UCR’s Student Recreation Center with a various
assortment of citrus fruits provided by the UC Riverside
Citrus Variety Collection. In addition, the President
met with various UCR Community members answering their
