Teaching Materials

How do I put course materials on reserve at the library?

Books, articles, and other materials required for classes, as well as lecture notes, exams, and problem sets, can be placed on reserve at your request. Reserve items circulate for very limited periods, usually one hour, two hours, four hours, one day, three days, or seven days. This allows for maximum student use.

Lists should be submitted at least six weeks before classes start to ensure timely processing of items. This lead time allows the library to prepare materials for student use by the time classes begin. Reserve list forms will be sent to your department each quarter at your request.

For the Rivera Library, Click here to submit a list via the Internet or click here for a PDF print version.

For the Science Library, Click here to submit a list via the Internet.

Lists can also be submitted via e-mail to: LIBRESV@ucrac1.ucr.edu. E-mail list requests should include the author, title, course, quarter, loan period, number of copies, and the UCR call number.

QUARTER SYSTEM CLASSES

Lists should be submitted to Reserve according to the following schedule:

Fall -- 1st week in June
Winter -- 1st week in November
Spring -- 1st week in February
Summer -- 1st week in May

Please note that many items are placed on Reserve each quarter. This is a significant workload that cannot all be handled the first day of classes. Lists are processed on a first come, first serve basis.
