What is the University policy on photocopying copyrighted materials for classroom and research use?

The University Policy and Guidelines for the Reproduction of Copyrighted Materials for Teaching and Research, issued by the President’s Office in 1986, describes prohibitions against copyright infringement and defines "fair use" in the photocopying of copyrighted materials for teaching and research. These guidelines explain the legitimate educational uses of photocopied materials and those uses that constitute copyright infringement. Appendix 2 of the Guidelines provides information on how to contact publishers.
