How can I find out what is happening at UCR?

The campus uses electronic communication to keep faculty and staff informed. Information from the Chancellor and other senior administrators is sent electronically through a mandatory Scotmail system. Information regarding campus and community events is also sent through an optional Scotmail based upon the list you subscribe to.

There are six optional lists:

  • AthleticEvents
  • CampusSafety
  • CampusServices
  • Colloquia
  • CulturalEvents
  • StudentLife
To sign-up for any of the above Scotmail lists, complete the online enrollment form at http://scotmail.ucr.edu/subscription.php.

There are several other ways to keep-up with current events at UCR:

UCR website – located at www.ucr.edu. The main webpage is changed every day to stay current with the issues and announcements that are important to the UCR campus.

Fiat Lux – is a publication produced by the Office of Marketing and Media Relations at UCR and is distributed free to the University. Issues give insight into exciting research at UCR, significant faculty, staff or student activities, and alumni relations information. The Fiat Lux is also available online at http://www.fiatlux.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/display.cgi.

Highlander Newspaper – The Highlander is the weekly newspaper of UCR produced by students. The newspaper is distributed to various sites around campus, or can be found online at http://www.highlander.ucr.edu/.
